**NEW** PERU Cajamarca

This week’s coffee comes to us via Cafe Imports “Regional Select” program. The program is designed to create a “taste of place” experience, giving the brewer/drinker a broad overview of what that region’s coffee has to offer in terms of flavor. This particular lot is sourced from multiple farms and producers across Cajamarca, a a region nestled in the Northern Highlands of Peru in the Andes mountains. Northern Peru is well-known for its world-class coffee. A combination of promising factors including high elevation, a selection of great varietals that grow in abundance (Typica, Bourbon, Caturra, etc.), and quality-focused farmers and farming practices all contribute to a culture of great coffee.

The result of that hard work and care is a cup that is sweet, floral, and deeply approachable. Notes of red pear and honey are balanced by gentle florality and slight dryness like a white tea. These flavors intermingle for a well-rounded and easy-drinking cup perfect for a spring morning.
