**NEW** SUMATRA Asman Gayo // natural

Some of you may be familiar with this offering as it’s not the first natural microlot we’ve sourced from the Asman Gayo mill and owner/operator Asman Arianto. Seated in the Pegasing district of Takengon, the Asman Gayo mill serves several small farms in the coffee-famous Aceh region. Arianto has set himself apart by being one of a small number of mills in the region to offer naturally processed lots alongside the far more common washed offerings.

Over the last few years, we’ve come to trust that coffees from Asman Gayo will deliver on both well-rounded earthy sweetness and bright tartness. This lot differs slightly in its presentation, leaning more on tart characteristics. It’s notably tannic with strong suggestions of tart cranberry and red wine. The cup also leans into classically Sumatran notes, finishing with notes of baking spice and black tea. Though not the sweetest cup, its crisp, bright nature and clean drinking experience make it a standout for a light summer coffee.
