This coffee comes to us from Raquel Lasso and her husband Carlos, La Boehme. This is part of a competition series of coffees. We have two coffees from Raquel, this washed Gesha and auction lot Pink Bourbon from the Best of Action in Narino. The farm is located in the trail Buenos Aires, about 40 minutes from La Union, Nariño, at approximately 2000 meters above sea level. At La Bohemia, they have planted around 10,000 coffee trees, where they focus on practicing meticulous and crafted methods. Raquel is responsible for all other innovative projects at the farm. The farm consists of 6 hectares with approximately 20% shade. Due to the altitude, it is often covered in a mystical fog.  This is what we would consider a textbook washed Gesha varietal. Heavily floral with pronounced sweetness we found notes of wild blueberry, peach and honeysuckle. The cup works best at a courser (than you might think) grind, which allows the intricacies and mysteries of the cup to present themselves. As the cup cools, it becomes easier to really experience how specialness of the cup. As with all the coffees we roast, we use a 1:15 coffee to water ratio.
