**NEW** KENYA Kevote

This coffee comes to us from the Kevote Wet Mill in the Embu region of Kenya. Kevote lies on the slopes of Mount Kenya, just northeast of Nairobi. The Kevote Wet Mill was founded in 1957 and today serves roughly 2600 small farmers. In recent years, it has expanded to two additional facilities in order to serve more small farmers in the area. Like the Kamwangi AB we recently released, this lot also contains a blend of SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varietals.

As the year comes to a close, we like to lean on Kenyan coffees as a staple representation of seasonal flavors. This lot is no exception. It leads with a bit of citrus acidity that gives way to more prevailing stonefruit brightness. The cup transitions with a hint of savoriness, then finishes with dark, molasses-like sweetness. It stands on its own as an excellent daily cup for these cold winter days, and also blends beautifully as one half of the Jolly Roger, our annual holiday blend.
