(peach, dark honey)

Duromina, Duromina, Duromina; how do we love you, let us count the ways. We are really excited about this coffee. It is super versatile, representing well as an espresso and pour over. It also makes an amazing espresso tonic, and as such, marks the start of our espresso tonic season at Sump. This coffee hails from the Jimma region of Ethiopia, which is a departure from our typical Yirgacheffe region buying habits. It is from the Keta Farmer’s Cooperative Union, via the Duromina washing station. The lot is washed (not a natural) andis composed of heirloom varieties from an elevation of 1900 to 2100 m.a.s.l. In the cup, look for clear notes of peach and dark honey. This coffee is light roasted. It is a fairly dense bean and as such can be pushed a bit in terms of extraction (water-coffee contact time), meaning if you have to draw out the brew time by adding 30 or more seconds, don’t be overly concerned about doing so. Until next time.
