In this cup look for notes of key lime, red grape, cantaloupe, and white tea.

A introductory note from Oscar Barrantes himself: My Name is Oscar Barrantes, systems engineer by profession, biologist by passion, and coffee grower by conviction.I am convinced that the future and tranquility of the land can be found in the countryside and not in the big cities. I migrated from the city of Bogotá to this coffee land in southern Huila, where I grew up as a teenager and in which I have fond memories with my family in the municipality of Brussels. Now, I lead processes with the gestar foundation, focused on the environment, as we mobilize our community to improve quality every day, and reach the much desired fair and competitive prices in a world market.

Another delicious coffee from our recently discovered local importing partner, Urbania, who also brought us the Bet-El. This current coffee comes from farmer Oscar Barrantes. The farm is located in the municipality of Bruselas in Huila. The district of Bruselas is notable for its coffee production, producing several Cup of Excellence awards, and given for the best coffees produced in the country. Colombia is the third largest producer of coffee in the world (and the largest arabica producer in the world), of which approximately half of its production is sent to the United States.  We are pretty happy with a 1:15 extraction ratio (e.g., 23 g coffee to 345 ml of water) for filter coffee and 1:1.5 to 1:2.4 ratio (e.g., 20 g coffee to 30 to 48 ml output) for espresso. We think this coffee can be enjoyed with all methods of extraction, as well as hold up well to the addition of milk (dairy or other) and sweetener (should you desire). Enjoy.
