**NEW** BURUNDI Gihere

This coffee comes to us from the Gihere Central Washing Station in the Ngozi region of Burundi. Burundi, like many African coffee-growing countries, processes the majority of its coffee through large regional washing stations and most coffee is grown by smallholder farmers. Burundi’s smallholder plots are exceptionally small, often only occupying 1/8-to-1/4 of a hectare and managing an average of 250 trees. This means that individual harvests are combined at the washing station into day lots based on quality. We found notes of dried apricot, orange zest and a snickerdoodle sweetness.
