This coffee is nurtured and produced by a small group of farmers from the municipalities of La Palma and Citalá in the northern region of Chalatenango. It is part of the Montecristo Trifinio, a tri-border national park shared between El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Although, having never visited myself, I am told this tri-border region is exceptionally beautiful. Most beautifully of all, this place is famous for having murals painted in many colors for which this coffee is named, translated literally as the mural. In the cup you might find notes of maple, ripe stone fruit, macadamia nut, a heavy body and a sweet finish with a long linger.
